Glass Galore

I wanted to share what I have been doing lately in glassblowing. I have been having so much fun with glass and my pieces keep getting better. Monday night I am going to make the girls each a glass, Karleigh wants blue and Shea wants red. They want them for the bathroom to match their toothbrushes and their stools. :) Karleigh always says "Beautiful mommy!" with anything that I have made in glassblowing. My favorite of all of these pieces is the first. I am most proud of that one. :) I think I'm going to keep that one for myself and the rest are probably going to be Christmas gifts. I have also made paperweights, ornaments, and a witches ball but I didn't want to unpack them to just take pictures of them. So here is almost all of the vases I have done as well as one of the pumkins I have made.

This one below this text is standing crooked because there is some glass at the bottom that I need to polish off. When I am done coldworking it, it will stand up straight.

Fun Tuesdays and Thursdays!

Since I go to school during the day on Tuesdays and Thursdays the girls have to go to a sitter. Sitter really isn't the word for the two wonderful ladies who take care of my girls. They are more like wonderful caregivers. I always feel safe, comfortable, and relieved when I walk out the doors of their homes to go to school. The girls just love to go to Lori's and Angie's houses. They talk about it all the time. I know that both Lori and Angie love my girls and that they treat them with love and respect. It gives me such comfort to know that my girls will be taken care of the way they should be. They get to play like crazy with their friends Zoe, Ellie Jo, and Caitlyn. They get to go outside and play at the park and in Lori's awesome backyard. I am just so thankful for these two women. The make my school a lot less stressful because I can concentrate on what I need to do in school rather than having to wonder if my children are being treated the way they should be. Yes, my girls test them both A LOT. But I know that they will be disciplined in the right way. I just want to thank you both so much for being so great to my two babies. I love you both so much and I really appreciate everything you do for me. If I don't express it enough, I am sorry. I hope you truly know how much I appreciate you both. Again, thank you gals so much for being my saviors this school semester, I appreciate you both so much!

Here is Karleigh, Shealyn, Ellie Jo, and Zoe (counterclockwise).

That One True Friend

I want that friend. That true friend that you can talk to about anything at any time. I want someone to listen to me and just understand how I am feeling. I want to feel like there is another woman out there who would do anything she could for me and me in return. I thought I had those types of friends, but I don't really. I want a close friend that I can talk to about my frustrations and accomplishments. I want to feel loved by a true friend. Everywhere I look it seems like everyone else out there has that one TRUE friend who will be there for you no matter what. That person who will tell you the truth even if it hurts. I have been hurt so badly in the past by people who I thought were true friends. I feel like I am afraid to try to "get" a closer friend in a fear that it will happen all over. Also, all of those friends seem to be taken. I am a very different person, maybe that is why I can't find that person. Is it me? Do I have an unattractive personality? I feel like I may, but I don't know what to do to change that. I don't know if I should change. I feel like I am changing, and I know that I have changed dramatically in the past year. Why can't I find that one person who will accept me for exactly who I am?

I am a sexually explicit, loud mouth, opinionated, loving, emotional, wonderful, don't give a damn what others think about me, tired, motherly, fantastic, kick ass, fun, creative, messy woman. I can't be all of me around every person I know. I don't really know anyone that I can be exactly who I am around (except for my darling Nathan). I want a woman who understands me just like Nathan. I have my mom and mil, but I want a woman friend who isn't related to me. I want what others have, that one true friend.

"I touched it!"

Me, "Karleigh you need to eat your chicken sandwich. You haven't even touched it!"

Karleigh, {touches sandwich} "I touched it mommy!"

What a smarty pants.

I'm unhappy.

I don't like being unhappy.

I wish things could always go great, but it is never the case.

Why can't I always be happy?

Why are there always things to make me unhappy?

I am very unhappy.

Lolly pop, lolly pop

So here are some of the pictures that I have taken lately for my class. I have had fun taking them and Karleigh has really enjoyed being a model. She asks me when I am going to take a picture of her. But now ever since the lolly pop shoot she has asked me if she can eat her lolly pop in the pictures. I still have the lolly pops and I will probably do another photo shoot with her and the lolly pop, maybe try some different angles and views. I LOVE the one with Shea lifting the lolly pop, I know it totally focuses on the lolly, but that is what they were doing, focusing on the lolly pops! lol So here are the pics, enjoy!

One of my angels

Yesterday the girls did not have a nap because they were having way too much fun with Katherine and Allison. When we got home (around 530) Karleigh went to bed and Shea fell back asleep, but on the floor. It was so cute. I just had to take a picture. What a beautiful baby girl, I can't believe how big she is getting. She is talking SO much. Here is the picture of my sweet angel.

A Great Day

We had a great day today. We went to the air show again. We got there around 1130 and stayed until about 4. My cousin Renea, her husband Erich, and their three kids came with us as well. We saw men jump from airplanes/helicopters, we saw a couple really awesome little planes do crazy tricks like spinning, flying upside down, flying feet away from the ground, landing on one wheel and then the other. We saw jets take off and make A LOT of noise. And we saw the Blue Angels fly! It was awesome! I never thought I would enjoy it so much (I went to one when I was much younger and didn't enjoy myself). But I think I enjoyed it so much because I was with my beautiful family and they were enjoying it so much too. I know Karleigh is going to talk about it for weeks. I took lots of pictures. I haven't gotten them uploaded to my hard drive yet because I have a lot of other pics to take care of, but I will upload them soon. Then once I do I will pick my favorites from the day and post them. I am hoping I got some really cool ones of the Blue Angels, we will see. I know I got a couple cute shots of the kids and Renea and her family. I am having so much fun taking pictures, I just hope I keep getting better and better. I always see so many things I could have done different or better with my work, I see it slowly getting better and I hope that continues. Off to bed now for some hubby loving. ;)

Love to my readers.

studio lighting, or is it?

So today I took a bunch of photos of Karleigh with my new flash in front of a white wall in the house. I have a portfolio due on wednesday and I need different shots with my flash at different angles. My favorite lighting is coming from the left side or the right side. She was being so cute and such a little ham today for me and I am SO glad. My teacher is going to like these. I haven't decided which pics I am going to use yet because I want his opinion on monday. Tonight at the grocery store I found those big lolly pops that are really colorful so either tomorrow or monday I am going to give them to the girls and snap away. That should be exciting, I am looking forward to the bright pictures. I love bright colors! Here are just a couple pics that I edited real quick to see how the finished product would look like. Doesn't it look like they were shot in a studio? I am so excited to learn how to make studio and fake lights look like natural lighting. I have a photo shoot tomorrow evening (hopefully, if she still isn't feeling well it is postponed til next Sunday). I also have a photo shoot next Sunday morning with Barbara Sgueglia's family. I think (MAYBE, if I'm not too busy) I will try to start to post my favorite photos from my photo shoots. I keep getting more and more. :) It is very exciting. Oh yeah, back to the pics I took today. Here they are!

The Airshow

We went to the air show last night. My mom works for subway and got us VIP parking and a ton of perks. Free food, beer, a tent and a place to sit down to watch the show. Subway was one of the sponsors so subway employee's and their families get those perks. Karleigh had such a blast! Shealyn, not so much. Shea didn't like the loud noise, but Karleigh loved to see the planes. We had some food and then watched the planes. Once it was dark they did a light show with lights flying off of the back of a couple of planes as well as some fireworks. It was really cool and Karleigh couldn't get enough. My mom got us more tickets for tomorrow so we are going back tomorrow. Karleigh keeps asking me when we are going to see the planes. Hopefully tomorrow will be nicer out than it was today. I am looking forward to it. Here are some pics from the show last night. Enjoy!

So Very Overwhelmed

I am so tired. I started school a couple weeks ago and things are getting so much harder to keep up with. I wish it were still summer. I am enjoying getting to learn things, but I hate my History class. I love my glassblowing and studio lighting class. Not so sure what I think about drawing though, we will see. I still have about 40 pics to finish from the Lacy's photo shoot. It is so hard to sit through pictures I have seen for the past two weeks. I think I need to start editing less, it is killing me. I also have to get the pics from the Portrait party out to everyone. I have a maternity shoot on Sunday. I have pics to do for a portfolio for class due on Wednesday and I am really hoping the sun pops out so I can get the shots (it's natural light). I have a paper due on Sunday and still a half a chapter to read. I have a drawing to finish shading for class. A crap load of dishes, a ton of laundry, still more pics to edit. Bathrooms to clean, things to organize, crocheting to do, packages to ship, pictures to edit. AH! So much!! My mind gets lost in it all. And being so tired just does not help. My mommy group is running me down some. I try to keep up, but it is getting to be too much. I think I need to stop reading the message board, well for now until I get somewhat caught up. So if you are one of my friends and you don't see me on the MN, that is why I am getting so lost in it all. I will still come to playdates when I can, but I need to take a break from the big ol group. Everyone's threads/opinions matters but I do not have time to keep up with them all. My regular friends will still see me and I will still talk with them, but sheesh I'm taking a break. So if you see me on there, tell me to get off of it. lol

I am rambling. I think that is all that this thing (my so called blog) is good for. I am not a quirky writer, I suck at writing. Which reminds me I have a paper to write. I was asked two questions about crap I don't even know yet and I need to write a two to three page paper by Sunday about stuff I don't even care about.

Arg, arg, arg. I love my life, but right now I am so very overwhelmed.

different thoughts...

Wow! It has been two weeks since I last posted!! Things have been good around here, busy but good. We have been taking every chance we get to go to the beach. We (me and the girls, because Nathan was at work) went to Ocean Breeze Water Park with my mom Friday night. It was a lot of fun (and cheap too!) for the girls. When Karleigh saw Nathan she said "daddy, come to the water park with me next week", it was so cute.

My week is packed full next week of fun for me and the kids. I have class this upcoming weekend. It is on Friday and Saturday. I am taking a CPR class. Then I start my full time school schedule August 21st, I am really looking forward to it. At the same time though, I am also dreading it. I just want a bit of a longer break. I'm hardly getting a break at all though because I am organizing a bunch of stuff around the house. Hopefully that will be done before I start school.

My cousin just had a baby about a week ago, and I am going to take some pictures of him and her and her husband. I am excited about it. I hope it goes well. I have been thinking of all the different things I can do. It is so much fun taking pictures!

Also I have a friend who is due in October with a baby boy, I am going to take some pics of her too. I am really looking forward to that because she is an artsy fartsy kind of girl like me, she is up for anything. We may do some nude pregnancy pics too. She is a great model and a fun person to be around, so I am really looking forward to playing with angles and positions in the pregnancy pictures. She is going to be a great guinea pig. And she has the best pregnant body! So beautiful.

We went to church this morning. It was the first time Nathan and I have gone to church together. I haven't been to church since I was about 16 or 17 (I'm 23 now), so it has been quite a while. It was a great sermon. I really look forward to going next Sunday. Today we studied Romans 8: 32-39. There is so much to take in with such a small passage. It was really touching and wonderful.

The Olympics are on. It is very exciting! I need to find out when all the swimming and gymnastic events are taking place because I want to DVR them so I can watch them all.

Well, that is all of my random thoughts for now. Nathan and the girls are sleeping. I hope it clears up so we can go to the beach today. Well off to do some more house organizing!

Fun at the Beach

Sorry, it has been a few days since the last update. Life gets busy. Here are some of my favorite pictures from last weekend at the beach. I couldn't get any of Karleigh except for when she was swimming, that girl is a little fish. Shealyn is trying to swim too! It is so cute. We need to get her a floaty like Karleigh has because she would do really well with it. The beach that we go to has a sand bar that comes out most days. So the rocks behind Shealyn is where the sand bar stops. The sand bar goes out really far. I'm not sure if you will be able to see it in the pictures though. I hope you enjoy them, I know I do!! lol

Swim Baby!!

Beautiful Pose

Woah!
Shealyn the bird is behind you. :)
