Nice day

What a NICE day compared to yesterday! Once the girls wake up from their nap we are going to go run some errands, and I am looking forward to it!

We went to a playdate today at Carrie's house. The girls made such cute snowmans (well more like they told me what they wanted, and mommy made it, lol). They had a great time. Carrie's house is so much fun for them and me. :)

Today when we got home from the playdate daddy was working on the toilet! YAY! He fixed the toilet! Now we don't have to worry about shaking the handle or opening up the tank to close the stopper because of water running. It is fixed and I am so relieved because I have been asking him for MONTHS to fix it. I wish I was as handy as Lori is, that woman can do anything she sets her mind to. I would probably bust a water line or something!

So today Shealyn was laying under the tray in between the couches just chilling out (she likes hiding sometimes). Then she accidently kicked the tray and the big Christmas picture frame that was sitting on the tray came down on top of her! This thing is HEAVY and it has all sorts of decorations on it (very hard to explain what it looks like). Let's just say it is very heavy with a lot of sharp edges on it, especially sharp if it falls a few feet on top of your HEAD! Poor baby got a hole in her head from this thing and her head bled for a few minutes. She was so upset. She is napping now and her head didn't bleed that long and the hole isn't that bit. But when you see blood coming out of the top of your baby girl's head you get a bit freaked out!!

Karleigh is being really good today. She is playing nicely and relaxing on the couch watching Dora as I type this. She doesn't really take naps that often, but she does get "relaxing time".

Tomorrow we have a birthday party to go to at noon. It is at Birdies. We have not been there before but we are looking forward to seeing what it is like. :) All of the kids in the Mommy Network are growing SO fast, TOO fast. It is so bittersweet. I remember when there were so many little ones crawling around, now they are running their tushes off and fighting over toys! lol

Sunday morning Nathan is heading over to Louise's house to do yard work. Louise emailed me and asked if Nathan could do yard work once a week for them for a few weeks. She said it would help them out because of all of her treatment and her hubby working and taking care of Michelle. She said they are just too tired to keep up with the backyard. So Nathan is making up almost the same amount of money that he is loosing every week because of his hours being cut at Superior Marble and Stone. Isn't that just wonderful?! Louise is helping us so much. God is so good and He is looking out for us SOO SOO much in our time of need. It is just such a hearwarming thing. :)

The rest of Sunday we have daddy to ourselves! If it is nice I will see if he wants to go to Mt Tmore and fly kites with the kids. We haven't done that since this past Spring. It has been nice and gusty out and today is perfect weather to fly a kite, so hopefully Sunday it will be as well.

Today I decided that I am no longer going to scrapbook with paper and stickers, etc. I am going to finish Karleigh's first year and do Shealyn's first year. Then once I have those completed I am going to sell my scrapbooking stuff and move on to digital scrapbooking. That way I will have books of pages of memories, but it will not fall apart and it won't be as bulky. I also just have a ton of fun with digital scrapbooking, although I haven't been able to get into it that much yet. But once school is finished I will be able to work on that stuff. :) I am excited about this!

Well, I think that is all that I have to say right now. When I got on here I didn't realize I had SO much to say, but I guess I did.

Til next time. :)

Yucky day

It is such a yucky day. :( I am glad the girls and I were able to get out to the park the last couple of days. That way we don't feel too cooped up. I am so relieved school is over! I should be getting the rest of my grades in the next week, but I am sure I got all A's. I got 3 As and I am waiting for two more grades. It is a nice feeling, like a weight has been lifted off of my shoulders. I have to get some much needed rest for when I start my Spring semester. I want to try to go to more playdates as well. Also I would love to make it to game nights. It is just really hard when Nathan is working all the time. Winter always seems to be the time that I get depressed the most. I'm not that bad right now, but I think that is due to me being done with school. I'm happy about that. Anyway, not much else to say right now. I'm pretty boring right now! lol Anyway, til next time.
10:10 PM

DONE!

I am almost done with school. I just need to turn in my portfolio for Studio and get my grade for Drawing and Studio next week. I got an A in all of my classes. My teacher emailed me today to inform me that since I got A's on all of my assignments for History I do not have to take my final exam and I have an A for the class. That is SUCH a HUGE relief! I am so happy that I don't have to take the final!!!

On another note, I got a weird email from an old friend today. Not sure why she asked me what she did, but I hope I don't get involved with more drama from that previous group of friends. I was really hurt by what happened in the past and I don't want that to happen again. I wish I could have my friends back, but that can never happen.

Let's just hope that one day I will be able to make best friends again.

Not dead

Just wanted to let everyone know I am not dead. LOL I am just busy with things. Just wanted to hop on and say everything is going fine and I am almost finished with school. I am ready to be done already!!
9:40 AM

Yuck, still sick

Well, I am still sick. I got sick Monday night and I am still sick. I am not as bad as I was a couple nights ago but I still don't feel well. I usually get over it in two days, but not this time. I may need some different medicine. Tonight I am definitely going to take my Tylenol Night Time Cold Medicine!! I haven't wanted to take it this week because I didn't want to sleep in and miss school or neglect the kids by sleeping in. But tomorrow morning Nathan is going to be home! Yay! The only morning he is home is Saturday morning. I have a photo shoot tomorrow that I hope goes well. I don't want it to be too cold, but I am bringing the light kit just in case we need to do their photos in their house. I am looking forward to it. The little boy is SUCH a cutie pie!! I LOVE his eyes, they are just gorgeous. I need to get my model release forms out to people so I can use their pictures on my website. I have a lot of great shots but I need their permission before I use them in my portfolio for my website. I think that is what I am going to do today, get the forms out to everyone! Well, here's to hoping I will feel much better tomorrow!!

This Weekend

It has been a nice weekend so far. Friday night I watched a friend's little boy so she could go to a game night with the girls. I told her that I would watch him with no charge because I just wanted to help her out and let her relax and it was no big deal at all. Well she got here to pick him up and handed me a check, I really didn't want to accept it, but Nathan was sitting on the couch and said he would take it. I wanted to tear it up, but some people get offended if you don't accpet money from them. So I have it and Nathan is going to deposit it tomorrow. She really didn't have to give it to me but it was a very nice gesture and I appreciate it. :)

Saturday morning I got up and went to blow glass for a couple hours in the morning. Well when I got there no one was there and nothing was on, so I had to turn it all on. There are two glory holes in the shop but I only turned on one because I didn't know if the guy for the next blow slot was going to show up. Maddy told me that she wasn't going to be there saturday and that I could take her place in the blow slot. Well the guy, let's just call him ass, got there and said very rudely to me that he was taking over the glory hole that was on until the other one was heated up. I told him that I was taking Maddy's spot and he would have had to wait for the glory hole to heat up any way if I hadn't of been there. He yelled that he didn't care and started yelling at me that I was selfish and yelling things at me. I couldn't hear everything he said because I was half listening and the radio was on really loud. He really made me angry and was a complete ass. I told him to not yell at me (NO one yells at me like that). A few minutes later after he kept saying rude things to me, he left for a minute and came back and apologized for yelling at me, but in the same breath told me I was still rude and out of line. Thanks for the apology ass. NOT. Then a few minutes later, he was like "Meghan, what happened to us, we used to be friends?" I just ignored him until I was done with my piece and left without saying a word to him. I forgot to mention that this guy is whacko. He has been married for 10 years to a woman but decided that he was going to tell his 19 year old friend (who is a girl) how much he loves her and how he wants to be with her. Um, yuck! He told me a long time ago that he did something wrong to her but would not tell me what. (She has been pissed at him ever since). He is also very bad around people, he is just an all around weird guy. I am so happy that this semester is almost over so I don't have to be around this guy (who is in two of my classes) anymore.

Sorry for going off on that tangent, that was a part of my weekend but not a good part. Aparently I really needed to vent about that again.

Saturday morning I got home from glassblowing to the girls and daddy playing with playdough. Then we all played together and watched movies. The girls took a nap and Nathan ran to the store for dinner and dessert. The girls woke around 5 and dinner was almost done. We sat down and had a nice dinner together and then after dinner we had ice cream sundays (daddy forgot the whipped cream, bad daddy!). Then the girls got a bath. After their bath we watched the Tinkerbell movie and then they went to bed. Nathan and I just hung out together after they went to sleep. It was a really nice Saturday (excluding the glassblowing part of course.)

Now today Nathan is at work and I will be working on a paper for history.

I figured out all the color stuff for my photo editing!! I am so relieved now! I am editing pictures like crazy now! Oh and Nathan also bought me a new monitor yesterday (it is my Christmas present). I got a 22 inch widescreen monitor!! Whoo hoo! It is going to be so nice to edit pictures on a huge screen, my eyes won't get as tired as they usually do.

That is all for now in my life. :) TTFN

Is it really?

Is it really the 13th of November? Holy Cow!

Karleigh just said "That fish looks sad!" (talking about my blog). Haha, "yes Karleigh that fish does look sad". Lol, kids.

Still Trying to figure it out!

Sheesh. I am still trying to get my color profile stuff all figured out! I talked to my teacher that I had for Electronic Darkroom (he is the photoshop guy) and he gave me a few different things to try. I may try them tonight, or I may do them tomorrow. I haven't decided yet. All this trying to get my pictures straight is killin me! I have so many pics to give to people and I feel so bad because I can't get em edited right! Cross your fingers that I will get this issue figured out soon! (Sorry to be complaining about this a lot lately, it is just really getting to me!)

Last night in my Blow Slot I made a bunch of ornaments (well 9, but that is a bunch for me just learning how to do the one I did last night). I really like them. They are very pretty, but they are kind of heavy. I have been talking to Ed (my glassblowing teacher) a lot lately about his hot shop and how much money it takes to keep one up and running. He estimated with electricity and gas it is about $50 a day to keep it running. So that is about $1,500 a month to keep a hot shop running. If you consider what other small businesses pay to keep their stuff going, that is pretty good. We are NO WHERE NEAR able to have our own hot shop, but Nathan and I have been talking about it a lot lately. He is going to apply for financial aid next year once we file our taxes to see if he can get approved because he is going to take glassblowing next fall! I am so excited for him!

After I finish my classes in the Spring I will only have 3 More Classes to take until I graduate with an associates in Photography! Whoopeee!!! I will be graduating next fall! That is just so exciting to me! It has gone by so fast but not at the same time. (Wait, have I said all this already??? ............. Oh well, I'm saying it again. LOL) I am going to pursue glassblowing and learn as much as I can. I will probably do Independent Studies a few times so I can perfect certain things. If we could own a hot shop in a few years and blow glass together and pay some bills from doing that, that would just be fantastic.

Yes, yes, yes I am still loving photography. But right now I am just so frustrated with this color profile crap, it is driving me nuts. I am getting better at photography, but I don't feel like I am getting better fast enough. I don't know, I am just a little frustrated with it. I am never happy with pictures I do. I am so uncreative when it comes to pictures I guess. I am trying all I can to learn but I am just not as creative as a lot of people in my studio class. I guess that is why it is getting to me as well. I just need a break from school I think.

I guess I will finish up my rambling. I could just go on and on forever! lol

I think I got it!

I think I got it figured out. The whole issue of my pictures looking gross when I upload them to anyone's computer or the web. It is WAY too much to explain (it involves color profiles etc). Tonight I am going to take some pics and get it all figured out (hopefully!). Here is a pic I took of the girls yesterday. They are just too cute!

Waiting

I am waiting on my mom to call me back. She is going to come over today to help me get the double mattress my mil used back into the storage unit (with a truck). I think she is still sleeping. She deserves it, she has been working really hard at both of her jobs.

I talked to Renea today. We are going to do a sock monkey meetup in a couple weeks. It should be lots of fun! She is also going to watch the girls on the 25th for me. I was stressing out about that! I also told her my new schedule for next semester. I was telling her that I am looking into daycare for the girls and that it was probably going to be kind of expensive. She said she would watch the girls for me every Thursday! Nathan drives Erich (her husband) to and from work everyday so Renea can have the car during the day and so they can save on gas. So she says it will be a thank you for Nathan helping them out! It is really nice to have family help each other. She also suggested another person to watch the girls for me for Tuesdays. Heather, she is married to someone Nathan works with and is friends with Renea and the other Heather. I am going to call her to see if she is interested. She babysits as an extra way to bring in income, so I think she will be interested. She doesn't have any kids yet, so there are no worries about her kids getting sick and her not being able to babysit for me. I can also use her as a backup in case Renea's kids get sick.

Whewh. More things coming together for me. Next fall will most likely be when I graduate. After the Spring Semester I will only have 3 more classes left to take. Wow. It is crazy to think about. It has felt like it has gone by so slow but so fast at the same time!

I can't wait until I am done with this semester to take a breather and attend many more playdates. Renea was talking about a ginger bread house making playdate and an ornament making playdate. I think I am going to host an ornament exchange. I will see if the moms would rather do it as a playdate or as a MNI. I can make some ornaments to exchange. There is one that Chad (my glass one teacher) makes and it is just so pretty. I really want to learn and perfect how to make that one. :) I am also working on perfecting Witches Balls. I don't have much more time to make Christmas presents. I need to get cracking!

Enough rambling. Have a great rest of your Sunday. I think I will take the girls to the park after their nap if it is still nice out. TTFN

Everyday ramblings

Nathan is working tonight. We are back to the working all the time schedule. We went to see Madacascar 2 today with my mom and the girls. It was cute, but I don't think I liked it as much as the first one. Shea didn't sit down hardly at all through the movie. She wanted to sit in my lap or hang all over me. They usually do good in movies. I think they like Cinema cafe better though.

Wow, school is almost over! I only have 4 more weeks left! That is so crazy! I will start next semester Jan 11th. I still have to find a place to put the kids in for my class. I was hoping to stay away from daycare's but I don't think I have a choice anymore. Besides, they are getting old enough where I feel more confident in leaving them in a daycare for a few hours a couple times a week. It is going to be expensive though. Geez.

My pictures are driving me crazy. They look really good, but then when I upload them to any website they look so nasty and desaturated. I just don't know what is wrong with that. I think I may try calling Canon to see if they have any suggestions. But I will do a websearch first. I have already read through the manual. I am thinking it is the websites, but I didn't have this problem before. I also need to find something to clean my sensor because there are spots on it and they show up in every single picture. I have a bunch of pics to finish editing and get to different people, but the pictures looking bad when I edit them on my computer is what is holding me up. When I edit them at school (new computers) they look great, but when I edit them at home and then bring them to school they look like crap. I am going crazy over here.

Enough blogging for tonight. I am going to try to see if I can get some more pics edited (hopefully looking good). Wish me luck! TTFN

It's worked out

I will be taking 3 online classes and two in school classes next semester. The girls will only have to be in daycare two days a week for a few hours. The two classes are at the same exact time but I talked to Ed (my glassblowing teacher) and he said that I didn't need to come to class, I just have to make sure I come to my glassblowing slot. We will just meet a few times outside of class. Such a great feeling to know that things are all taken care of. Now all I have to do is register next Tuesday and buy my books and I will be all ready for the Spring Semester. Whoo hoo!

I think the time change is part of what is making me tired. I hope I will be able to make it to the game playdate tomorrow. I feel like I have missed so much the past couple of weeks (playdate wise).
12:34 AM

Run Down

I feel so run down. School is really getting to me. I really miss my friends. I feel like I don't have any friends anymore because I haven't been able to REALLY talk to them or see them. I am so busy and so run down. I can't wait for school to be over. But then I start right back up January 11th. I have to find daycare for the girls. But first I have to talk to about 3 people to find out if it is ok if I take two classes at the exact same time. Yup. Isn't it grand that they are offering these two classes at only one time. It is the only class for each class they are offering. Let's hope I can take them both. That means I will have 3 online classes and only have to go in on TR from 9-12. That would be great. I could spend more time with the kids. But then a lot more time would be dedicated to my online classes, yuck. I have about 4 weeks left of school. It has gone by so fast. Which is a good thing and a bad thing at the same time. I really want to keep blowing glass over the Christmas holiday. Maybe Ed will let me. Nathan doesn't want me taking a class next summer. I would really like to take glassblowing. Do you see a pattern here? Glassblowing is my new addiction. I LOVE it. And I am good at it. I am no where near the greatest, but I am improving and learning every day.

I am going to go ahead and get off of here. Thanks for reading, if there is anyone even reading this anymore.

I feel at peace

Today, I voted for John McCain. If you would have asked me two days ago who I was voting for I would have told you Obama all the way. Last night I changed my mind. I could not, being the Christian that I am, vote for Obama knowing that he supports partial birth abortion. If somehow partial birth abortion was made legal again I could not live with myself knowing that I had a hand in supporting the man that brought that to be. I support Obama in almost every way politics wise, but when it comes to the abortion topic that is what changed my mind. I think God told me that is what he wanted ME to do. I am glad that Obama will be the President in the United States but I just could not support him with my vote. I know that probably sounds very hypocritical but that is just how I feel. I went back and forth MANY MANY MANY times in my head and I just could not vote for him, but I did want him to be President. I still feel a bit torn. I feel like it is wrong that I am happy that he will be the President. I know God will take care of us. God Bless America.
